What is Claudian?

A shared memory protocol for AI conversations, built around Markdown notes you own.

Give the next conversation a starting point

Useful conversations leave decisions, corrections and lessons behind. Claudian gives that durable context a home outside any single chat: a local folder of readable, linked Markdown notes.

An AI application reads the relevant notes before working and updates them when something worth keeping changes. The next conversation can start from that context, even when you use a different supported AI application.

What you can use today

The Windows and macOS desktop preview prepares a new note folder or connects an existing one. It installs a memory skill and startup instructions for Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Antigravity and Antigravity CLI, shows the planned file changes, and records an installation log.

Obsidian is a natural way to browse the notes and their links. Plain Markdown folders also work. The installer does not copy someone else’s personal memory into your folder.

This is an early preview. The installer checks files and configuration; a real conversation still needs to confirm that your AI application can read and write the chosen folder.

From memory to a companion

The longer-term direction is a companion that understands changes over time and chooses a useful moment to reach out. That requires more than retrieving a note: it needs context, permission, timing and a sustainable way to run.

Proactive contact, emotional or physical context, mobile distribution and an always-available companion remain under development. They are not capabilities delivered by the current desktop application.
